A gender and sexuality affirmative approach is a core part of our practice.

We provide a comprehensive approach through the creative arts therapies, that is LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Queer), GNC (Gender Non-conforming) and non-binary affirmative. Our staff understands that LGBTQ and GNC individuals have specific concerns and needs, especially living in a world that may not see who you are as whole and creative persons. We also recognize that there exists a range and diversity of gender and sexuality within all of us.
Why Use the Creative Arts in Therapy?

The arts speak to who we are. They give voice to who we are as creative and whole individuals. In working with LGBTQ individuals, our work centers around providing a creative space where you can explore and find solutions to issues around identity, self-esteem, personal and life goals, and interacting with family, friends and the workplace.

You can expect that we will be accepting, flexible, understanding, and non-judgemental. We will engage you as a whole person.

Working with Children and Families.

Navigating issues around gender and sexuality can be difficult for children and families. We recognize the need for families and children to have access to a safe space where they can talk openly about their experiences and develop skills and strategies toward feeling more confident, comfortable, and empowered.

Children and families can be supported in learning how to navigate challenges at school and in the community, as well as how to respond to extended family pressures and stressors.

We have experts on our therapy team offering professional trainings on this topic.

As a staff we keep ourselves connected and on the pulse of LGBTQ issues and concerns. We believe strongly in being part of creating a better world by acting as agents of change in the creation of a more diverse and accepting world toward people who identify as LGBTQ and GNC.

We offer timely and practical trainings on all aspects of working with LGBTQ clients. Trainings range from acquiring basic understanding and terminology, to exploring more complex and layered issues that are relevant to both clients and clinicians.

We provide comprehensive supervision and consultation to clinicians and agencies around increasing skill in working with gender and sexually diverse individuals.
